Back before I was suspended on Twitter (I’m still suspended, since the Twitter/X appeals process is broken), I followed ShoeOnHead, who frequently had sane things to say about the lunacy of the left. I think she blocked me because I noted she was wrong about transexism, but this nice rant showed up in my feed recently.
“New York was closer to flipping red than Florida was to flipping blue.”
Where she’s coming from: “I voted for Bernie in the primaries in 2016 and I watched as the Democratic party did everything in their power to destroy this man. Twice. So it is safe to say I am a little biased when it comes to the Democratic Party.”
“You idiots! You morons. You imbeciles! Kamala Harris? Really? That’s who you threw up there? The one who dropped out before Iowa? The one who got blown the out by Tulsi Gabbard. Why didn’t you hold a primary? Aren’t you the saviors of democracy?
“Oh, big congratulations to Tim Walz on being the first white male DEI hire. It didn’t work. The DNC completely neutered that guy, reduced him to this weird token white man. “Hello, fellow men. I do play football.”
A nice slam on the Liz Cheney/#NeverTrumper idiocy.
A discussion of how young came out in force to vote for Trump…and of feminists openly wishing for them all to die.
“‘We need a liberal Joe Rogan!’ You had a liberal Joe Rogan! His name was Joe Rogan!” Dave Rubin and Jordan Peterson (among others) have made this point as well.
“Democrats can’t have a Joe Rogan, because everything that makes Joe Rogan Joe Rogan is not allowed on the left.”
Plus a discussion of populism.
I’d advise watching the whole thing. You probably won’t agree with everything, but you might with a good 80-85% of it…
Said it before, I’ll say it again: Trump did not “win” this election or 2016/2020.
The Democrats lost all three, if they hadn’t have cheated in 2020.
What’s going on here isn’t some massive “We want Trump…” movement. It’s more “We want some f*cking sanity…”
Which is something the Democrats will not provide, along with their establishment controlled opposition Republican peers.
So, what’s going to happen? The vast, unrepresented middle is going to dominate politics. It could well have been the Democrats; unfortunately, they preferred to double-down on stupid, and here we are. The Republicans are in the process of being co-opted and turned into a centrist party, whether they like it or not. They’ve been tea-bagged, so to speak…
I like Shoe. I’ve watched her for sometime, from back when she was dating the guy always wearing armor. She’s definitely too left for someone I’d hang out with, but she presents good arguments and isn’t an ass about it, so she’s a good listen to hear opposing views.
As she notes, I watched the previous, pre-election, video and yeah, it turned out as she expected. Of course, she is right about Joe Rogan, and right about how the left lost much of its support. However, one thing I didn’t know, and I checked, the “Call Your Daddy” podcast video on YouTube has just about 900k views. There is a lot of perspectives one can make of it, but I’ll just give this one, Shoe’s video is less than 24 hours old and has over 1.1 million views.
I’d never heard of “Call Your Daddy” prior to the discussion of Kamala appearing on it. I definitely didn’t watch it, because none of it seemed remotely interesting. Now I have to ask, whose idea was it to be interviewed by this podcaster with only 1 million subscribers on YouTube, when say “Shoe On Head” has 2 million subscribers? Not only did they go with a small podcaster, but they spent $100k to replicate her set and fly her to Kamala for the interview. Shoe’s set is an American Flag behind her.
I’m sure someone might say, “but Call Your Daddy’s podcast is on Spotify and your quoting YouTube numbers, and…” Well, Joe Rogan is also on Spotify, yet he received 18 million views on YouTube for interview JD Vance. 51 million views on YouTube for Trump. Even the latest Musk interview had over 18 million views for JRE on YouTube. “Call Your Daddy” with Kamala, just 900k views.
Here’s Elle Magazine (found while hunting for Spotify statistics, wow Elle still exists) suggesting that this interview might be her biggest, because there was 1.5 million views for the trailer on TikTok in 14 hours. A trailer… on TikTok… what 30 seconds? Shoe’s video is 31 minutes long and is slightly behind at 24 hours.
What do we learn from all this? The Harris campaign spent $700 million on a media advertising company “Future Forward”, and the above is the results she got from it. Shoe On Head provided her advice for free (oh, she made money off YouTube and Merch, but the advice was free).
The Democratic Party, along with the Rhino Wing of the Republican Party that’s been their codependent collaborators for the last hundred years both have a major problem, and it’s the same one:
They’ve got zero authenticity. There’s an essential fakeness, a fraud perpetrated on the rest of us. You can see it in all the little tells, like Walz’s going out on his hunting trip and all the rest of the staged bullshit.
Trump may be a pumped-up pimped-out self-promoting asshole, but the one thing he exemplifies is that he’s authentically a pump-up and pimped-out egotist. There’s no feeling of falsity from him; that’s who he really is. For good or ill.
You can observe this in the way the Leftoids approach gun control; they’re convinced that people own guns and want guns because NRA and some vast evil conspiracy out there. They see the NRA as one of their own organizations, an astroturfed creation of this nefarious conspiracy. They completely fail to understand that guns, the NRA, and gun ownership are organic things, that the people who hold those views came to them on their own, without some astroturf organization telling them what to think. That’s how they model this whole thing, and why they think that taking out the NRA would solve their problems; kill it, and eventually, people won’t want guns anymore.
This is how they view the world, and why they’re doomed to failure. They don’t get this essential facet; all of their beliefs are artificial, creations of the minds that brainwashed them, and they know this, at some deep level. So, when the time comes for them to try and understand their opposition, they simply cannot do so, because their theory of mind does not include someone coming to an opposite conclusion independently.
This is why their “long march through the institutions” is essentially futile; yes, they’ve taken them over, but now that those institutions and organizations are no longer answering the needs and necessities of the majority of the public, guess what? They’re getting routed around.
The root problem with the left and the statist twats is that they either forgot or never understood this fact: Things have to work. Regardless of your pretty theories, if the work you do once in power doesn’t actually work…? You’re out of here; nature will take its course, and it won’t be pretty.
This is what essentially killed the Soviet Union. They reached a point of dysfunction such that things no longer worked, the willing suspension of disbelief evaporated, and they were left there standing in the cold daylight going “Well, that didn’t work…”
When you quoted ShoeOnHead saying: “Oh, big congratulations to Tim Walz on being the first white male DEI hire,” I didn’t quite understand what DEI meant, so I looked it up in an acronym finder (https://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/DEI). The first thing that looked reasonable was a Latin phrase: Divide et Impera, which means “divide and conquer”. Of course, I soon found the other meaning, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”
