California Jewelry Store Looted In Broad Daylight

At what point do California voters finally realize that their Democratic Party leaders have abandoned trying to enforce the rule of law and shout “Enough!”?

The latest example of California’s decline into a lawless state is a bold daylight robbery where 20 masked intruders looted a Sunnyvale jewelry store in broad daylight.

Video of a shocking smash and grab robbery shows the moment a Sunnyvale jewelry store is overwhelmed by suspects armed with tools and hammers.

The incident took place at PNG Jewelers on Wednesday afternoon. The store is located at 791 E. El Camino Real. Police said at least five people have been arrested, but they are looking for more suspects.

The surveillance video’s timestamp shows the robbery happened just before 12:30 p.m. Well over a dozen suspects, clad in black clothing, barge into the store and begin smashing the glass counters as they ransack the place.

Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety said their officers responded to a report of a robbery in progress and that approximately 20 suspects were involved.

“The suspects fled the store in multiple vehicles before officers arrived on scene. Officers located two suspect vehicles as they were attempting to flee the area,” Sunnyvale DPS said in a news release.

For those unfamiliar with it, Sunnyvale is smack dab in the heart of Silicon Valley, between Mountain View, Cupertino and Santa Clara, and was home to numerous influential companies including Fairchild Semiconductor, Atari and LinkedIn. Homes there list for $2 million and up. El Camino Real is the central “strip” of Silicon Valley, running all the way in to San Francisco where it turns into Mission Street.

Daylight jewelry store robberies were hardly unknown before, but these large mobs of smash-and-grab looting are a direct result of Democrats decriminalizing shoplifting. Even though the haul here is clearly above the $950 limit of Proposition 47, California criminals that have honed their looting skills on smaller value targets are clearly seeking fatter scores, and show no hesitation in branching out to hit targets in affluent cities.

The continued slide of one-party blue California into abject lawlessness is no longer shocking, but it should be. In the name of social justice, Democrats are systemically destroying the underpinnings of ordered, law-abiding society. How long before insurance companies simply refuse to insure retail stores in California, and how soon until high end stores in Silicon Valley go the the way of those in San Francisco and simply close entirely?

Why would anyone need more than 6 bullets in their gun?

The way to deal with this in any state other than CA is to have bear spray standing by along with 1 or 2 armed staffers. Area spray them and when one of them pulls a weapon (since some of them are doubtless armed) you open fire on the entire pack since they’re in the commission of a crime. You’d get at least 3 or 4 and maybe more as they step on each other trying to flee.

This robbery will be above the $950 cutoff, but that new law allows for an easy plea-bargain from serious down to misdemeanor. Want to bet all prosecutions end with misdemeanor pleas?

The Dems need chaos and instability. People don’t want a revolution in a stable, functioning society so to get their long-dreamed Communist revolution, they need to bring on as much chaos, disorder, and crime as they can.

You’d think that most of the people living in California would be at least beginning to question their assumptions about nearly everything related to the Democratic Party’s lock on their politics, but… You’d be wrong.

Sane people who lived in California have already left. The ones that believe are the delusional true believers that aren’t going to give up on the various fantasies they’ve been sold until they’re dug out of the sewers by whoever winds up cleaning out the mess a generation or two from now. And, they’ll still be bleating about “genderqueer” and “social justice”.

I’ve had some illuminating conversations with folks that got out of California, and it is telling how they either fall into one of two camps: They either know exactly what happened, what went wrong, and want to avoid it, or they’re nuttily insistent that the real problem is the crazy Right-wing Republicans in California… Who’ve somehow got responsibility for the way things are ‘cos they voted against the policies that got put in place, anyway…

There’s “cognitive dissonance”, and then there’s whatever this is, which more resembles willful denial of reality… You have conversations with some of these folks, and you’re left wondering if they wandered off from some mental institution.

There is no point, at least while we pretend that we are still one country, where Californians will admit that something is irredeemably wrong. The place is controlled by enemies of the Republic, foreign invaders, and is populated by those who believe that it will never happen to them.

The closest thing to reclaiming California that might happen is if the inhabitants who are say over 100 miles from the coast and from the Mexican border establish a new border along those lines and defend [and blockade] it.

To Meatwood: while many would agree and sympathize, part of the insanity that is California right now is that the armed guards, the jewelers, and every righteous person in a four block area would be charged with aggravated assault, attempted murder, discharge of a weapon, DEI disrespect, and anything else a Soros-backed prosecutor could drum up (see also, Manhattan). Add in the sure-to-come race hustling plaintiff lawyers and, well, you can imagine the rest.

Which is exactly why the jewelers didn’t have armed staff and bear spray.

I do wonder if some of those rooftop Koreans are available for hire…

Install a Halon fire suppression system and glass-break alarms on the cabinets. When the alarm goes off, activate the Halon system and suffocate all the thugs.

  9. Thomas Jackson says:

You should have the right to shoot such a mob. There is no law, no protection, ergo you have to protect yourself. This is happening with the sanction and full blessing of the state and its minions.

Revert Cali to territorial status. Install a military governor (the Ghost of R. Lee Ermey would be perfect), take away all of their representation, deploy the USMC and shoot looters and criminals and deport all of the illegals.

A crew from Philadelphia attacked two jewelry stores in Michigan ten years ago. The Grand Rapids jewelers shot one of the crew members, so the crew abandoned their attack with nothing gained beyond a chunk of lead.

The crew immediately crossed Michigan to stage an attack against a West Bloomfield jeweler. This jeweler didn’t resist and lost $ 1.3 million in Rolex watches. But the previous shot crew member leaked in West Bloomfield and the crew was eventually identified by DNA and prosecuted:

No one has attempted a similar attack on the Grand Rapids jeweler since. The West Bloomfield jeweler has not been so fortunate.

    I love a modern parable.
