Not while on the march or direct combat. But when you have the down time and wants to have actual hot water for coffee/tea/ramen, you’d rather have it than not.

Oddly enough, the US Army is testing (or was) suppressors that reduce the noise from ear damaging (literally) loud to jet engine at takeoff loud to aid communications between soldiers. It may specify suppressors on soldiers basic rifle in the near future.
