By now I assume that you’ve seen or read about Tucker Carlson’s piece on video footage that fatally undermines much of the Democratic Party’s “January 6th Insurrection” dogma.
Instead of rehashing that (Tucker has a wee bit more media reach than I do), here’s a video of Joe Rogan and Michael Malice reviewing the footage.
The biggest takeaway for me is that, while Rogan and Malice are not conservatives, they are far from people who unquestionably accept left-leaning media at face value. For them to be shocked at things that anyone who was paying attention knew no later than, oh, say, January 7, 2021, that there was no “insurrection” at the capital, just a half-assed riot, is actually somewhat surprising.
The mainstream media lies about so many things, so much of the time, that it’s easy to believe one of their narratives about a situation you simply weren’t paying attention to at the time.
Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom…and evidently truth as well.

We’re in the middle of a “credibility breakdown” as the idiots in power keep pushing it further and further. I’ve watched the whole thing go from “If it’s in print, it must be real…” when I was a kid to “If they’re saying it , it’s probably a lie…”
The reality of this is going to hit the idiots in charge when they finally run into something where they need their long-expended credibility. Belief and confidence in the institutions will collapse, and everything else will go with it.
Preference cascades are pretty damn ugly, when they happen. Ceaucescu at Timisoara was a minor blip in things, compared to what we have building up.

@Kirk
I wish I had your … “optimism” shall we say.
Covid-19 fits this description, and yet … the institutions and our horrific leaders mostly kept their power (and often increased it), with very few consequences to them.
Credibility ruined even further, sure, but Fauci’s still a free man. Trudeau and others are still at their perch. And on and on.
One might say, well, the next crisis will really hit the idiots because their credibility is so much worse off, now.
I … just don’t have that optimism. Especially when 40-45% of the country happily supports the uniparty, parrots their lines, and insists anyone who says otherwise should be excluded, jailed, fired, etc.
They’ve got a lot of credibility to burn. And, they’re sure they can do whatever they want, as long as they want.
That’s going to run up against a hard stop, eventually. It always does.
Remember how the Soviet Union crashed and burned, finally? That was the outcome of a preference cascade as applied to “belief in the system” and “system credibility”.
Stalin, Kruschev, Brezhnev… They burned through all the built up credibility they had, and then, one day? Nobody believed, any more.
That’s what happened to Ceaucescu at Timisoara. It’ll happen here, too, unless they pull their heads out. Which it doesn’t look like they’re doing.
You can watch the people waking up around you, if you look. The realization hits, that they’ve been lied to. It’s always ugly.
“The mainstream media lies about so many things, so much of the time, that”
That the only reasonable response is to assume that they’re always lying about anything where their story supports the Left
