Yesterday’s story on Halifax Bank telling customers to leave if they didn’t cotton to pronoun pandering seems to have struck a nerve.
So Halifax Bank announced that they were wrong and gave up their push for pronouns.
Ha! Just kidding! They threatened to call the police on anyone being mean to them on Twitter by being “transphobic.”
Evidently no one informed them of that time-honored “stop digging” strategy…

They’ll stop digging when they finally have no choice but to admit that they’ve hit rock-bottom. As in, when they’re forced into receivership because of losing their customers…
I’ve heard they have lousy customer service, anyway. I’ve known British nationals who were in the US on vacations or business who got screwed over by Halifax for multiple reasons.
I wish I had money with them so I could take it all out and close my account….
The trouble is that they are in Canada, which has gone crazy regarding content on Twitter and the like. They can get the RCMP down on your case. Consider what has happened to Jordan Peterson.
This Halifax Bank is in the UK.
Will they call the cops on people closing accounts with them? Will Twatter ban non-Brits who rake them over the coals?
I learned a long time ago to “vote with my feet” regarding places that offer poor customer service. I won’t argue; but I also won’t pay someone to insult my faith, my country, my family, or me.
Halifax must think they are allowed to be gormless and their customers will just lap it up like ambrosia. As they say in Texas, “That dog won’t hunt.”
May the bank get 99.44% of the punishment they deserve, fire all of the crybullies, and barely survive, slowly building back the trust they squandered.
