Bret Weinstein Talks Elon Musk On Dave Rubin: Fighting Censorship And The Lone Wolf Problem

This is a very interesting clip of Dave Rubin interviewing the always-interesting Bret Weinstein on a variety of intertwined topics.

The main focus of this segment is a mystery: Why did Musk block Weinstein on Twitter right after spending a fair amount of time agreeing with him on the need to fight censorship, but they touch on a whole lot of interesting ideas in the process.

  • DR:

    That’s why I talk about Elon as much as I do on the show. Because I don’t I think if you would have said to Elon 10 years ago: “You’d own Twitter, you’d be in this free speech fight, you’d have, you know, the ADL calling you an anti-semite,” like the list of craziness that everyone now knows. I think he’d say “What are you talking about? That’s completely insane. I’m trying to get us to Mars. I’m building this cool car, blah blah blah.” But he, I think, is sort of the avatar for what you’re talking about there, the brave person that doesn’t know exactly what they’re going towards, something like that. But then he’s like “I better buy this freaking Twitter thing because I see all the danger.”

  • BW:

    I think you’re right about Elon. I don’t know for sure that you are, but I think you’re right about what he’s trying to do, and how he ended up there, and how it would surprise him. I had a meeting with him. I flew to San Francisco, and I had a meeting with him, and he said it had been a very good meeting, and he wanted to meet again. A series of events unfolded over the course of the next 24 hours. My Twitter account got commandeered. Maybe that was organic, maybe it wasn’t. I don’t think—I know Elon had nothing to do with it. But anyway, I reached out to him, and tried to alert him to this, because I was concerned that he and I had private communications, and he didn’t, want you know… I don’t think there was anything compromising in them, but he didn’t want them in the world, and he needed to know that this…and he ended up, uh, blocking me after having this meeting, and I remain blocked.

    Curious.

  • BW:

    Now, the reason I raise it is because there’s a defect in all of those players that I mentioned who have all been shoved onto the same team, right? They have some incredible strengths, and I have to tell you um there’s been a lot of pain inflicted on us for standing up. But the camaraderie, the discovery of people, people who were up to the challenge, their coming together as a coalition, has been extremely rewarding and dwarfs any suffering that might have come along with this.

  • DR: “Yeah, it sounds kind of corny, but I mean that those three days or whatever it was we had at ARC [Alliance for Responsible Citizenship] to see everybody together again, and all be, like, we’re still alive we’re still here it’s powerful.”
  • BW: “The problem is, that all of those people who have the characteristics that I listed, that are courageous, that are insightful, and that have integrity, they tend they have a lot of Lone wolfess in them. Which means that they have a defect they’re terrible at confederating.”
  • BW: “I see him as very strategically clever, but I don’t think he’s any good at confederating, either. And my little story where he blocked me, it’s like, look, hey Elon, there aren’t that many people out here trying to advance the ball who have something um meaningful to contribute to the team. We have to stop tripping over each other.”
  • BW: “What happened was…I believe that Dark Horse [podcast] that [wife] Heather [Heying] and I [do] have faced a whole bunch of suppression that that has not yet shown up anywhere.”
  • BW: “We are demonetized to this day. YouTube demonetized us. I believe they were going to throw us off. Joe Rogan held an emergency podcast, and you know YouTube hasn’t messed with us since. But they didn’t remonetize. More than half our income in a one fell swoop. And we know that decision happened in the C-suite at Google.”
  • Weinstein believes that the real push to demonetize and silence him came when he started to examine alternatives to the consensus Flu Manchu narrative.

    When we started to take it out of the realm of “Here’s a bunch of stuff you can’t understand and leave it to the virologists and the epidemiologists and the public health authorities” and the answer was “No, actually you can understand it and some of what you’re being told isn’t right.” Right when we started to do that and then we started to interact with people like Robert Malone and Peter McCullough, Pierre Kory, and then those people went on to affect a huge audience, largely on Joe Rogan’s program. That changed the narrative, and so I think something has meddled with us in a particular, in a unique way, because frankly there weren’t that many people who could bridge the scientific to public.

  • Rubin brings the subject back to Musk. BW: “You talked to Elon about the things he was discovering inside of the crime scene that he bought. And one of the things that he discovered was that there were lots of mechanisms that caused things to be deboosted that weren’t labeled as such. And so he kept finding more and more levels and I was trying to convey to him, ‘Look, I think you will find something special when you figure out what happened to us.'”
  • When Musk blocked him over these, he said “Stop spamming me!”
  • DR: “What you’re really saying, in essence, is that you were a little too ahead of something in the game at which the speed is played that he may not want to be involved in that just yet.”
  • BW: “On Dark Horse we have the phrase ‘Zero is a special number.’ What that means is if you can turn a single social media platform, a single newspaper, or a single university so that it functions towards its stated goal, you actually stand a chance of fixing the, system because if there’s one social media platform on which you’re treated like an adult and you can exchange ideas freely and discuss them back and forth, nobody’s going to want to be on the ones in which you’re treated like a child.” I would like to think he’s right here, but I see an awful lot of people on the left acting as though the only good thing about the pre-Musk Twitter was the ability to banish users for WrongThink.

    • It’s an interesting conversation with a lot to chew on. Just why is their such a strong nexus between Social Justice and wanting to force conformity on Coronavirus?

    But I also wonder: Just how much of a remnant is there on the left in favor of free speech? Are are any significant advocates for it under the age of, say, 50?

    Dare To Question The Flu Manchu Narrative? Get Your Medical Certification Yanked

    Remember Dr. Peter McCullough, the physician who dared to question the narrative over Flu Manchu to come up with effective early treatments?

    His reward for that is the American Board of Internal Medicine trying to yank his medical certification.

    Dr. Peter McCullough, a respected and highly-published cardiologist from Dallas, was informed in a recent letter from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) that they recommend revoking his certifications in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.

    The letter, dated October 18 and obtained by The Epoch Times, stated that the decision was based upon McCullough’s “public statements … about the purported dangers of, or lack of justification for, the COVID-19 vaccines.”

    “They’re trying to make an example out of me,” McCullough said in an interview with Emerald Robinson.

    “This idea that a board can create a dispute over the ‘science’ … and then professionally damage me represents a legal infringement. This infringement ought to be carefully viewed as a dangerous step toward censorship,” he added.

    McCullough was among the first to publish an early outpatient treatment protocol for COVID-19, and has raised concerns about the safety and efficacy of the emergency-authorized vaccines. He has been published in various medical journals over 1,000 times.

    The ABIM’s Credentials and Certification Committee notified McCullough that the revocation process was being considered in May before the group met in July to consider the matter.

    They cited his testimony before the Texas Senate Committee on Health and Human Services in March 2021. The ABIM committee took issue with McCullough saying there is “no scientific rationale” for healthy people under 50 to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

    In June, McCullough sent a letter asking for the matter to be dismissed, or for the right to be present and participate or have legal counsel present. He was not granted that right.

    The committee said in its deliberation that it focused on McCullough’s claim about negligible mortality risks for those under the age of 50 or 60, countering with CDC reports that more than 71,000 Americans under 50 died of the disease.

    They also stated that his assertion that tens of thousands have died from vaccines, based on Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) data, was “not supported by VAERS data or any other reliable source.”

    “For these reasons, the [Credentials and Certification Committee] found that you have provided false or inaccurate medical information to the public,” the committee chair wrote, adding that McCullough’s statements questioning the vaccine “pose serious concerns for patient safety.”

    The letter further explained that McCullough has the right to appeal the revocation of his credentials by November 18 or it becomes final.

    Dr. McCullough’s real sin, of course, is to question The Holy Narrative over Flu Manchu, so much of which has turned out to be counterproductive or just plain wrong.

    For that, the Democratic Medical Establishment will never forgive him.

    Excerpts From Joe Rogan’s Interviews With Dr. Peter McCullough and Dr. Robert Malone

    Two Joe Rogan interviews with two different doctors appear to be key to understanding how the United State and various national government and international agencies have embraced counterproductive Covid Theater policies:

  • Dr. Peter McCullough
  • Dr. Robert Malone

    • Tiny problem: I don’t have Spotify*, and even if I did, I haven’t yet had time to listen to all of two 2.5+ hour podcast episodes, especially given the end-of-year crunch. The world being what it is, I suspect several of my readers are in the same boat, here are some abstracts from other people who have, some quick and dirty video snippets, etc.

    Over at Podcast Notes, they not only have the audio of the McCullough interview up (started listening, haven’t finished yet), they also have a super-handy summary of what was discussed. Some high level points:

    • We are not attempting to treat COVID-19 at home to prevent hospitalizations and deaths as an outcome
    • Early treatment of COVID-19 is the key to survival because you take the edge off viral replication, reduce inflammation, and prevent thrombosis
    • 50-85% of COVID-19 deaths could have been avoided if we adopted early treatment
    • “The 800,000 deaths we have right now, I can tell you to a one they’ve received either no or inadequate early treatment.” – Dr. Peter A. McCullough
    • “We’ve had a giant loss of life…It seems to me early on there was an intentional, very comprehensive suppression of treatment in order to promote fear, suffering, isolation, hospitalization, and death. It seemed to be completely organized and intentional in order to create acceptance for and promote mass vaccination.” – Dr. Peter A. McCullough
    • If this was just about COVID (instead of power) we would’ve seen four pillars to the response: reduce the spread of infection, early treatment, improvement of hospital treatments with monthly updates from officials, vaccination (it has a role but not the silver bullet)
    • Reputable hospitals (e.g., Harvard) STILL do not have COVID-19 treatment protocols
    • Vaccines are a piece of the puzzle but are not treatment
    • While most people are going to be fine, the vaccine has caused death and adverse outcomes in organ systems for a large number of people with higher susceptibility
    • A young boy is more likely to be hospitalized of myocarditis post-vaccination than ever be hospitalized from COVID-19 respiratory illness
    • We are not transparent on vaccines: we should be regularly reviewing safety, revisiting efficacy, and creating a profile of who it is or isn’t recommended for
    • COVID-19 false narratives: asymptomatic spread & testing, you can get COVID repeatedly, take a vaccine every 6 months, you should still wear a mask if you had and recovered from COVID, vaccines are fully FDA approved
    • A person is not science! Science is ever-changing and evolves with better and more well-informed data
    • The idea that people in positions of authority are presenting information without a fair balance of risk versus benefit is a dangerous precedent

    There’s a lot more there about Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine and monoclonal antibodies. And the parts about the powers that be supressing preventative treatment in favor of pushing vaccines as the only solution are pretty damning:

    • There is evidence of extreme collusion on the part of Pfizer, Moderna, NIH, and many more “public service” agencies
    • Moderna was working on the vaccine before the virus ever came out of the lab
    • A Johns Hopkins 2017 symposium called the SPARS Pandemic outlined that we would face a coronavirus related to MRSA and SARS that would devastate the United States, shut down cities, induce confusion, and railroad people into mass vaccination
    • The average death certificate takes 6 weeks to produce – how did the media get numbers so quickly? At some point, we essentially had a COVID death scoreboard
    • The number of COVID-19 deaths and testing has been padded to some degree: deaths padded by underlying factors that contributed more to death than the COVID; testing from duplicates

    He also talks about “Mass Formation Psychosis”

    • It’s clear there are a lot of people not acting well and unable to have normal conversations and discussions about COVID-19
    • Mass formation psychosis: group think that has developed so strong, it leads to something horrific (such as mass suicides in religion, walking into gas chambers in Germany, etc.)
    • Key components of mass formation psychosis: (1) period of isolation (lockdowns); (2) withdrawal of things taken away people used to enjoy; (3) incessant free-lowing anxiety (constant news of deaths, tally, spread); (4) must be a single solution offered by an entity in authority (vaccination)
    • In mass formation psychosis, it doesn’t matter the absurdity of the solution
    • People were so far in the trenches, they didn’t want to accept the research (read more here and here) that COVID-19 was not spread asymptomatically – it’s only spread from sick person to susceptible person

    I would add that Flu Manchu Madness followed closely on the heels of (and blended into) Trump Derangement Syndrome.

    Anyway, there’s a lot to chew on, even from just the summary.
