No really, he did.
You may scoff, but when you think about it, Obama exhibits a lot of behaviors we’ve come to associate with Blue Dog Democrats:
- He campaigned on fiscal responsibility only to add trillions to the deficit once in office.
- He claimed to be a moderate, but has overwhelmingly supported items on the liberal agenda.
- He continues to support Nancy Pelosi, no matter how far to the left she goes.
- Support for him has all but disappeared across rural and suburban America.
- He’ll lose his next election to a Republican.

Jihad waits for no man, so here’s another roundup of news:
- It takes very special skills to take someone with a sworn confession of involvement in the murder of 224 people, and to bungle the prosecution so badly that you’re only able to convict him on one count of conspiracy. But Eric Holder and the Obama Justice Department are just that special.
- North Korea is reportedly “supplying banned nuclear and ballistic equipment to Iran, Syria and Myanmar. Well, isn’t that just lovely?
- The story of Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, born Carlos Leon Bledsoe, a native-born jihadi who killed a U.S. solider at a recruiting station in Little Rock.
- “Feminist” scholar Lila Abu-Lughod says that honor killings are a consequence of Western colonialism, and that burqas are not at all oppressive to women. Sounds like the type of feminist that would be right at home at WisCon.
- Judges rules that no, cops didn’t violate a Somali’s families rights when refusing to let them put on hajibs during a drug bust. (Whether our time and money is best spent arresting people for possession of khat is a topic for another time…)
- Secretary of State Clinton complains that Europe isn’t accommodating enough to the Religion of Peace. That would be the same Clinton that would be required to wear a burqa in Iran or Saudi Arabia, not the Clinton that could legally have multiple wives; him I figure could get used to it…
- UK student: Support the troops! His Islamic classmates: Support the troops and we will kill you.
- “The scholars are unanimously agreed that a Muslim who insults the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) becomes a kaafir and an apostate who is to be executed.”
- Saudi Arabia and India stepping up military cooperation. Hmmm….
- Quest for Honor is a new documentary by Mary Ann Smothers Bruni about the quest to eradicate honor killings in Kurdistan. It seems to be getting a bit of Oscar buzz.
- And researching that, I came across this site http://www.stophonourkillings.com/, which I hope to take a closer look at when I have more time.
- Toy pig pulled from toy farm because…well, you can probably guess.

Another day, another bucket of post-election links for your clickity goodness:
- Liberals admit what they really want.
- Rick Perry wins not despite skipping newspaper endorsements, but because of it. I’m glad to see Republican politicians finally picking up on this. “When in doubt, vote against the Statesman and Austin Chronicle‘s endorsements” has long been part of the standard operating procedures among my friends…
- Dick Morris on why Obama’s last minute appeals to the Democratic base partially blunted the Republican tsunami. A few salient points:
- Singles, under-$25,000-income voters, and voters 18-29 all decided late and broke for Obama, indicating the “rally the base” appeal partially worked.
- Blacks cast only 10 percent of the vote and Latinos only 8 percent in the 2010 elections. In 2008, they cast 13 and 10 percent, respectively.
- Union members broke evenly, with 49 percent backing Democrats and 47 percent voting Republican.
- Voters under 30 constituted only 11 percent of the vote, and those 18-24 were just 3 percent. [Insert generic geezer anti-Facebooking, Twitter, Pabst-Blue-Ribbon Swilling Anti-Hipster Get-off-My-Lawn rant here.]
- This year was pretty bad for Democrats, but 2012 isn’t looking much better: “Short-term trends look dismal for congressional Democrats. Even if Democrats turn their political fortunes around, they’re still likely to lose seats in the Senate and will be hard-pressed to make inroads in the House, thanks to factors entirely out of their control.” The reasons include Democrats playing defense on more Senate seats in red and battleground states, Republicans controlling redistricting and, of course, Nancy Pelosi. “Obama wasn’t the reason we lost. It was because of Pelosi. She was a turnout machine – for the other side.”

Another day, another LinkSwarm.
- Liberal coach plays all players, good or bad, equal minutes, says having fun more important than winning. Conservative coach plays best players, makes winning the top priority. Guess which one they enjoy playing for more?
- Democrat Gabrielle Giffords holds on to Arizona’s eighth congressional district over Jesse Kelly.
- A lot of those Democratic House seats lost this year may be gone for good, or at least a decade.
- Voters don’t want big government:
Democrats must grasp that their defeats were not about deficient personalities or insufficient communication, but about their philosophy and substance. Roughly two out of three voters agreed with the statements that President Obama “has failed to deliver hope and change” and that in the midst of an economic crisis, Democrats “had their priorities wrong.” The post-midterm realities are simple: If the Republicans don’t deliver on their promises, they’re finished. If the Democrats continue doing what they’re doing, they’re finished.
- Will Democrats get the message? Probably not, since some defeated Democrats are saying they lost because they just weren’t liberal enough, like defeated Dem congressman Alan “Crazy Pills” Grayson.
- They’re also getting ready to put Nancy Pelosi in charge of their caucus yet again.

This Frank J. Fleming piece over on Pajamas Media is too funny (and dead on) not to quote copious sections from:
So the Democrats sucked. But not just plain old, usual politician sucked, but epic levels of suck where it’s hard to find an analogue in human history that conveys the same level of suckitude. It was sheer incompetence plus arrogance — and those things do not complement each other well. We’re talking sucking that distorts time and space like a black hole.
It’s Godzilla-smashing-through-a-city level of suck — but a really patronizing Godzilla who says you’re just too stupid and hateful to see all the buildings he’s saved or created as he smashes everything apart. Or, to use Obama’s favorite analogy, you have a car stuck in ditch, so you call the mechanic, but the only tool he brings with him is a sledgehammer. And then he smashes your car to pieces and charges you $100,000 for his service. Finally, he calls you racist for complaining. Obama and the Democrats have been so awful, it’s hard for the human brain to even comprehend.
But the Democrats will counter that the Republicans also suck. And while this is true, it’s not really going to help them. As I pointed out before, both a dog incessantly barking and a zombie apocalypse are things that everyone would agree suck. Yet no one during a zombie apocalypse, while hiding out in a boarded up mall, would turn to the other survivors and say, “We don’t want to kill all the zombies; then we’d have to go back to being woken up at night by that annoying dog next door.” But this is the best argument the Democrats can come up with. “Remember how awful the Republicans and Bush were? You hated them. You don’t want to go back to that.” Yes, why would people want to go back to when 6% unemployment was considered high?
People do remember how much the Republicans suck, and they know where it tops out … and that is nowhere near as bad as the Democrats are today. Like with the barking dog, it’s annoying, but you know it’s not going to cause the collapse of civilization as we know it. Not so with the zombie apocalypse; who knows how bad that could get if left to continue? Same with the Democrats and Obama; people have never dealt with anything this horrible their entire lives, and they aren’t that curious to see how much worse it can be.
So the Republicans kinda suck, and that’s why they’re going to win huge this November. Because in the land of epic, mega, ultra, apocalyptic levels of sucking, those who kinda suck are king.

It’s not just the U.S. that believes China’s yuan is pegged artificially low. The EU is also complaining at the current EU-China summit, asking them to let the yuan appreciate 20-40% in value.
China’s reply? Get stuffed.
That’s not the only China-EU news this week. China is also buying up Greek assets at the same time they’re dumping U.S. assets.
Let that sink in for a moment. As The Motley Fool’s Christopher Barker put it, “China may consider Greece a safer bet than the United States.”
If Obama Administration officials weren’t worried about our unsustainable budget deficits before (and every indication is they weren’t), now would be an excellent time to start…

I haven’t been posting on the story of the Obama Justice Department’s failure to pursue civil rights charges against the New Black Panther Party intimidating voters at the polls because: A.) it wasn’t a surprise, because Obama’s never given more than a conflicted slap on the wrist to anyone on the left (and still hasn’t had his Sister Souljah Moment, and presumably never will), B.) It was a relatively small story compared compared to all the other corruption and malfeasance surrounding the Obama administration likes flies buzzing around a dead hyena, and C.) There was no smoking gun that higher ups refused to pursue the case for political reasons.
Well, there’s now a smoking gun in the form of Christopher Coates testimony.
I suggest you read the entire thing. Unfortunately, the document is a “blogger hostile” secured PDF document, which makes cutting-and-pasting the text impossible (at least without cracking tools I don’t have), but the content is eye-opening.
To summarize: Both Civil Rights Division career lawyers in general and Obama Administration appointees in specific are actively hostile to race-neutral enforcement of the Voting Rights Act and refuse to bring any cases against blacks, in defiance of the specific language of the act.
Obama’s election was supposed to usher in a “post-racial America.” Instead, his election seems to have intensified the race-mongering pathologies of the American far-left: Identity Politics, unequal protection, and government not as a neutral arbiter, but as a distributor of spoils to favored groups.
